It was Friday 23 November 2007 at approximately 12.30pm, at the top of St Agnes Beacon In North Cornwall.  Matthew got down on one knee and asked Shella to marry him – at last!!  Her response was “Are you serious?”. 
 
Although not perhaps the most romantic response, it is understandable when you realise that Matthew and Shella had been together for 14 years.  Somehow Matthew has managed to ignore the almost relentless comments from family and friends (particularly his mum) of “So when are you two going to tie the knot then?” and then popped the question when everyone was least expecting it!
