Last week saw the final payment being made for the Stag Do.  Thanks to a late addition, we now have 30 people confirmed.  All that’s left to do now is to sort out the fun and games for when we’re out there – which are being kept firmly under wraps by Best Man Jon.  Not forgetting the task I now have of sorting out the rooms to make sure that everyone is happy, but this is proving very difficult. I’ve run my first attempt past 2 people already and both of them requested moves from their allocated slots, even though they were in with people they knew well – perhaps too well?   I may have to start from scratch and you never know, I may even resort to Danny Kyle’s idea of pulling all the names out of a hat at the airport.  So if any of the stags reading this have any people they would prefer to avoid rooming with, now’s your chance to let me know!

The next task is getting everyone’s full names and date of birth, as per their passport.  This will include middle names.  Nobody should feel ashamed by providing these details, as my middle name is Hamilton, as no doubt many of you will find out in the church (and very proud of it too).  Last year I was at a wedding and there were a few sniggers from the congregation when it was revealed by the registrar that the groom’s middle name was ‘Stucky’.  Maybe in a few weeks’ time when I’ve collated all the stag names, I may be able to top that one.

Last Sunday we took Page Boy Josh to Winchester to kit him out in his suit.  Josh is now 8 years old and at the age where cleanliness isn’t high on his daily agenda and going to bed with muddy knees is the norm.  Apparently he sometimes forgets to change his pants for a few days.   Luckily Josh had made a bit of an effort on Sunday and there no skidders visible.   After we’d bought the suit, all that was left to do was buy the tie.  Unfortunately they didn’t have any children’s ties in the colour we wanted, so we had to get him a grown-up tie.  So don‘t be surprised if you see the end of his tie hanging out the bottom of his trousers and following him down the aisle.

Talking of suits, I emailed Lace in the week about our suits.  You may remember Lace from Selfridges from the blog a few weeks back.  This man called himself the ‘special one’ but I would call him the ‘elusive one’ as it’s been difficult to get hold of him lately.  It wouldn’t surprise me if ladies man Lace and his side-kick Shark are sunning themselves with a bevy of beauties in a gangsta’s paradise somewhere.

Right, I’m off to pull all the stag names out of a hat.............

Don't forget you can still sponsor us for the London Marathon. Here's the link to do so online - it only takes a few minutes and remember to tick gift aid:
