We've neglected the site for the last week or so, but we do have a good excuse as we've just come back from a week in Cornwall.

The beaten up legs after the 'shortcut'

This is probably the last holiday we can afford until we go on our stag and hen do's next June so we made the most of it, i.e. by eating our combined weight in fish and chips, scones and clotted cream.  We also brought loads of fish back with us and we've just had a 'last supper' of scallops, mackerel, sea bream and Cornish crab before going back on the diet tomorrow. Which does lead me on to one of my favourite jokes -
What do you call a fish with no eyes?
A fsh.
The old ones are the best.

Anyway, I digress. We stayed in St Ives and took our mountain bikes down with us, so we did manage to workout our legs as well as the toned arm muscles we've gained from shovelling food into our mouths!  We actually cycled 28 miles on our first day as the weather was amazing, along the coast road between Pendeen, Zennor and St Ives.  We had one minor disaster when we decided to take a short cut across a field which didn't work out quite as planned.

We had to carry our bikes through a thorn infested track to get back onto the road, and the resulting effect on our legs can be seen in this picture.  I'm still bearing the scars a week on.

Later on the same day we visited the ancient monument of Men-an-Tol, which basically resembles a big stone-age polo mint.  We subsequently found out that crawling through the centre of the polo is supposed to heal all ailments  Matt swears that the broken ribs he sustained playing football a week earlier felt better afterwards.

Whenever we go to Cornwall we always find ourselves chuckling whenever we pass the signs for the village of Ventongimps.  Is it just us or does this sound like a really scarey place to live!
Just google it and see the first result.
